| Breast Cancer Research Sampler
When I lost my best friend to breast cancer I was devastated. Although
she is always in my heart I wanted something as a daily reminder
of our friendship. Since she was an avid stitcher the most logical
idea was to stitch something. This simple little sampler is the
result.
The M at the top of the sampler is to remind all of us to get those
annual mammogram!
The heart at the center of the M is for love.
The pink roses are for hope. The blue forget-me-nots mean that we
will not forget the people on our sampler as long as this disease
still exists.
And of course the pink ribbon around the single forget-me-not is
the symbol for breast cancer.
Although an alphabet has been included I have used a different one
for each person on my sampler. Each person stitched on my embroidery
is a unique individual. Some are stitched in blue for remembrance.
Some are stitched in pink to denote survivors.
A pink heart separates the names listed here. How many more will
be added before a cure is found?
No profit will be taken from the sale of this Breast Cancer Research
Sampler. When you send your check I will subtract only what is needed
to reproduce the embroidery in pattern form and send it to you.
The rest will be set aside and once a month a check will be sent
to the American Cancer Society with the funds gathered during that
month and earmarked for Breast Cancer Research.
Thank you for contributing to the cure.
